I had my MRI reviewed by a neurologist on February 17, 2026. The key findings and recommendations are as follows:
- Ophthalmologist consultation recommended for hemianopsia assessment and full visual field examination (to evaluate any residual impact on vision from the lesion’s location in the right occipital lobe).
- Follow-up in 6 months: Repeat head MRI with IV contrast scheduled for August 2026 to monitor the lesion.
- The lesion is now described as a post-haemorrhagic cystic-atrophic lesion. this means the cavernoma has evolved after previous bleeding into a stable, cystic/scar-like area with atrophy (no active enhancement or urgent bleeding risk noted).
The doctor indicated no urgency for surgery at this time, provided the lesion remains stable. This aligns with the conservative approach for such evolved cavernomas.
I’ve attached the doctor’s handwritten notes here. I’ll share any future updates as they come.
Thank you for your continued support,
Koiras
